Strange new world EP: 1

Area 1 -Crash site

               After a short cut-scene you will find yourself amidst the scattered wreckage of your ship.
               Upon searching your surroundings you will find a Large screw. Pick this up.
               Next, move to the large panel lying near the bottom of the play area and examine it first.

·         Remember to look at objects in the environment. Often things can’t be used until you have first examined them.

Once you have done this, the Handle of the piece should be in your possession.

Now use the screw to lift the wing piece and take the Jagged metal. Combine the Handle and the Jagged metal to make a Saw.

 

Moving further along, you will come across a Branch.  Use the Saw to cut that wood like a lumber jack.
If you have been looking out for useful objects, you should have a stick in your possession. Use this on the door panel to gain access to the town.

Area 2 -Town

Here you have two choices: either go into the bar and have a chat to all the drunken locals, or head straight to the right and into the next room.

Area 3 –Bar

Talk to the locals to gather information about ship parts, then head to the right.

Area 3.1 -Back of the bar

Here you will find a few drunks and a young girl with a balloon. (You will need this balloon to progress past the bum at the back.)

 For now head on back out to the path, then go right to find yourself in the junkyard.

Area 4 –Junkyard

Upon looking around you will find a Fork stuck in a puddle and an obscure looking Ship part that is out of reach.

Pick up the Fork. Head back to the bar and pop that little girl’s Balloon. She’ll be rather unimpressed but will hand it to you.

Combine the Balloon with the Fork to make a Sling-shot and head back to the junkyard.

 Use your Sling-shot on the Ship part then pick it up and you will also gain a Key.

Now head back to the bar and give the Key to the drunk at the back of the bar to gain access to the alley.

 

 

 

Area 5 –Alley

Here you’ll find a bum standing on a man-hole cover. If you talk to him he will tell you he is hungry, so you’d best get him some food.

On the wall behind the bum you will see a window. Get a Rusty bar from the window then head to the right and into the back of the alley.

Area 5.1 -Back alley

At the back of the alley is a box with a Cloth over it. Take the cloth and examine the box.

·         Remember, if you don’t look at it first you won’t be able to interact with the box.

Move it to find a rat chewing on a Mouldy loaf of bread.

Hit the rat with the Rusty bar then go back to the previous scene and give it to the bum. He’ll thank you by handing you back the Mouldy loaf and be on his way.

Now use your Rusty bar on the man-hole cover and head down the sewer.

Area 6 -Resistance base

Upon entering this scene you will discover that you cannot go back, so your task is to find a way out.

Standing next to a door near where you land you will see a one-eyed guard. If you speak to him he will ask for a password.

Take your Cloth and use on the wall near the ladder to reveal that the password is ‘password’. Tell it to the guard and go through the door.

Area 6.1 -Hallway

Head straight through the door on your left.

Area 6.2 -Store room

 Here you will need to get a Laser cutter from your left, and a Rope. After you have picked these up head out the door and through the door at the end of the hallway.

Area 6.3 -Change room

Search the coat pockets to get the Key card, then search them again to get some Marbles.

Head back out to the sewer with the one-eyed guard.

 

Combine your Rope and your Rusty bar to make a Grappling hook and use it on the lever on the wall to raise the water level and cross the bridge.

Keep heading to the right and talk to the big guy. show him your Key card and he will let you pass.

 

 

Area 6.4 –HQ

There isn’t anything to pick up in here, but you will need to use your bread to break the glass around the switch. After this, the resistance leader will give you a stern warning every time you try to pull the switch.

To fix this use your Marbles on the far wall to distract him, then pull the switch.

(Keep in mind that this puzzle works on a timer so if you take too long to pull the switch it will reset and you have to use the marbles again.)

After pulling the switch, the resistance leader will have a tantrum and throw you in jail.

Area 7 -Jail

Pick up the Spoon from the plate. Go over to the wall to the left and use it on the loose brick.

Pick up the second Spoon from behind the loose brick. Eko will place the brick back and you can use the spoon on the area above the brick to escape the jail.

Area 8 -Cave

 Head to the right of the screen to find the wreckage of a space ship.

Search the ship and get a Battery. Combine the Battery with the Laser cutter and use it on the Panel on the ship to get the Ship part and the Panel.

Head further right to find a gap over a vast drop. Place your panel over the gap and walk across to enter the forest.

Area 9 –Forest

Head left for a while, past some glowing green space bees (you’ll be back here soon). Keep going until you find a shack.

Area 9.1-Shack

Head into the shack and you’ll find and old man in possession of your final ship part.

Chat to the old man and he will tell you he won’t trade it unless you get him something to drink.

Take the Spray bottle off the table and head out and to the left.

Area 9.2 –Tree

Here you’ll find a puddle. Get out your Cloth and soak up all that water to fill your Spray bottle.

Now combine the Cloth and the Spray bottle and head back to the space bees. Spray the bees and collect some Berries from the bush.

Head back to the tree and give the Berries to the old man in the tree to get a Bottle of his unnamed fluids. Go and give it to the old man in the shack.

 

After this there will be a short cut-scene and you will find yourself out the front of an impound yard.

Area 10 -Impound yard outside

Take your Spray bottle. Head straight over to the attendant and spray him to make him leave then take the small metal Washer from the ground near the booth.

Now head over to the soda machine and take the Rope from around it.

Now you can access the panel.

Use your I D card on the screws and place your Battery in the slot. Connect the wires – the machine is now fixed.

Use the Washer on the machine to get the Soda. Combine the Soda with the Spray bottle and the Marbles to make yourself a Gun.

Head over to the street Sign on the right and shoot it twice. Pick up the Sign and combine it with the rope to make a Grappling hook. Use it on the gates to gain access to the impound yard.

Area 10.1 (Impound yard entrance)

Time for our final puzzle!

Head over to the green space ship on the right and you will see a panel on the bottom that is open. Examine it and you’ll be able to get a Power node.  

Now move over to the green ship on the left and you’ll find a panel you can interact with. Place the Power node in here and the door will open.

Area 10.2 (Ship interior)

To the left of the door is an open panel with broken wires. Examine this first.

Now move over to the left of the ship and take the small pink Control module from the open compartment, then head to the bottom of the screen and get yourself a Wire from the broken panel.

Place the wire in the panel next to the door to open the engine bay. In the engine you will find a second power node. Take that and head out of the ship.

Area 10.3 (Crane yard)

Head to the left and on to the crane yard. Examine the barrel first, then push it over.

Now place your Power node in the slot on the side then place the Control module in the slot on the front. Then lift the crane up.

You will gain the Crane handle, and the wing will fall down producing a wing pin. Pick this up and head back to the ship.

 

Use the Crane handle to pry open the panel on the right and take the second Control module. Head back to the crane and place the Control module in the available slot.

Now place the Wing pin in the hole where the handle used to be and interact with the wing.

 

You won’t be able to reach the crane so use your Crane handle to hit the switch - and it’s lift-off!

 

After landing elegantly on your face, a guard will come out and take you off to prison. It’s The End ... for now.
